But while some just wanted to look beautiful, others soon realised Midge’s superb manicures improved their playing performance too. Soon stars from the world of jazz and blues were beating a path to Midge’s exclusive South Moulton Street studio for her tailor-made guitarist nail sets. Paul Simon called on her for his first London concert in 22 years when he played Hyde Park in 2004, and Midge is the only manicurist trusted by Hugh Burns of Acoustic Masters fame. In 2005, demand for her services saw Midge set up a London-based guitarists nail clinic - the first of its kind in the UK.
